Where Are Mothers?
TIME’S 100 Most Influential People In the World
The cover of the May 12 Time features Time’s 2008 list of the 100 “Most
Influential People in the World.” The list includes some women but
mentions nothing about their being mothers. Time’s managing editor says
in the May 12 Time:  “THE TIME 100 IS NOT A LIST OF THE smartest, the
most powerful or the most talented – it is a thoughtful and sprightly
survey of the most influential individuals in the world.” Ever since CN
began in 1962 CN has promoted the importance of motherhood and solid
Christian families.  CN has repeatedly said that the most influential women
in the world have been the mothers of the great men in history. .............
The Holy Father Sends Greeting to all in LCMS

“Holy Father, I am most privileged to represent the Lutheran Church-
Missouri Synod and its members” Dr. David Benke, president of the LCMS’
s Atlantic District said when he greeted Pope Benedict XVI in New York.
“The Holy Father,” according to Benke then responded: “Ah! The Missouri
Synod Lutheran!! Please greet them all in the Missouri Synod for me.”
Benke then told “the Holy Father”: “As you know, the Missouri Synod is
the baptismal home of our mutual friend Father Richard John Neuhaus.”
“The Holy Father” responded as he grasped Benke’s hands: “Yes!
Wonderful.” Benke then wrote on the American Lutheran Publicity Bureau
forum: “Neuhaus was right. Mention of his name brought a smile to the
Holy Father’s face.” The financially strapped LCMS also sent LCMS
President Jerry Kieschnick and its Commission on Theology and Church
Relations executive secretary Sam Nafzgar to meet with the Pope.............
